I bought this product because the Oprah magazine said women should be applying a retinol product nightly and this is the product recommended. It said on the package paperwork that in skin tests on people there were no skin reactions like peeling or redness. However, after three days of use my skin definitely peeled and turned red. It also burned so I would use it sparingly at first and also use it every other night initially until you get used to it.
